Discussion Of Issues- Section 4

This is where you need to discuss your issues, write alternative options, discuss their advantages and disadvantages, or use SAF matrix. 20 marks allocated for judgment would be from here! Use numbering such as 4.1 for the first issue, 4.2, 4.3 and so on. If you write alternative options under each issue, number them as 4.1.1, 4.1.2 .....
This is a common method where you can score highly!
Write issues name.
Then write the impact- You should write financial and non financial impact
Evaluate alternative options- write advantages and disadvantages
For each issue you should have following matters discussed.
1. How it affects strategy (with SWOT, Ansoff, mission etc)
2. Stakeholders (mention at least two)
3. Use a diversity example
4. Write feasibility- technical, financial, resource feasibilites
5. Identify link between issues
6. Financial Impact, non financial impact

If you have all (or most) you will score highly!

Where do figures fit in? What about risk?

You can analyse opportunities with this model. Write below sentence.
T"his opportunity can be analysed using Johnson and Scholed Suitability, Acceptability, Feasibility criteria."

Suitability.
This refers to strategic fit. Check with the mission, vision of the company, and the critical success factors, whether the proposal is in line with these. Then refer , write whether this is built on strengths, whether it corrects weaknesses, whether it grabs opportunities while minimizing threats. Those things, you need to check.
Then try to relate to Ansoff, Porter's Generic or product life cycle if possible.

Acceptability.
Here you can refer Mendelow and discuss about 2 -3 stakeholder groups. Under shareholders, discuss profitability, NPV etc. If there are other stakeholders who has an interest on this proposal, discuss about them as well.
Different stakeholders will have different interests.
Eg: Employees look for job security.
So you need to discuss many aspects.

Feasibility.
Check whether we have money to do it. (financial feasibility). Then check for technical, human resource, political, cultural, legal feasibilities.
