Building materials: Lafarge, Holcim, SA DES CIMENTS VICAT

Following the acquisition of Orascom Cement in 2008, Lafarge is the leader in the
Egyptian cement industry. It now owns 53% of its local subsidiary (Holcim is the partner), whereproduction capacity is around 10 million tons, or 5% of Lafarge’s entire cement capacity. The country accounts for 4.4% of group sales and 8.6% of EBIT.
Besides Lafarge, the mid cap cement company Vicat generates c.11% of revenues in Egypt, but almost 20% of EBIT thanks to above average profit margins. Saint-
Gobain’s exposure to Egypt is marginal (one float glass unit, generating a few million euros in revenues).

A good diversity point. Tanx for sharing it with us!
Now what you need to do is to make it more organized, then you will recall it at the exam with out much effort! Shall we give it a try? Basketball
